Superintendent's Message

Timothy Spencer

We are looking forward to the coming school year. With a hope for the return of some normalcy. We realize the impact that the pandemic has had on our community and know that our students and school are the very heart of our community. We are excited to welcome them back for an engaging school year that focuses on student learning and rebuilding strong peer and leadership relationships.

Our school community has a culture of high expectations for student learning, and everyone is encouraged to join us in supporting the successful transition of our students through their pathway to success.

The dedicated staff and administrators have been busily preparing this summer to ensure that we meet the needs of our students and provide them with a variety of learning experiences that will promote continuous growth throughout the school year.  Over the summer, our staff members have participated in professional learning to expand their knowledge of instructional and assessment strategies, implementing technology within their classrooms, and aligning the curriculum to state and national standards.

With an increased emphasis on literacy, all schools in the district will be utilizing funding from the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Grant to assist in creating a comprehensive approach to support the development and advancement of literacy skills for all students, as well as early childhood learners.  Menifee Central School has received a grant to create a 21st Century Community Learning Center to provide academic after school enrichment opportunities to assist students with meeting state and national standards in reading and math; incorporate a variety of activities that will compliment regular academic programs; and providing literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children. Menifee County High School will be incorporating a GEAR UP grant to accomplish three overachieving goals: lift educational aspirations, build academic skills, and connect academics to college and career readiness. We also hope to build thriving Dual Credit and Advanced Placement programs at our high school to provide our students with the opportunity to earn college credit while completing high school requirements.

The school district is committed to a school culture that is conducive to promoting high expectations for all students and “empower future generations to be productive and successful in a global economy” as noted within our mission statement. Our vision statement is “We are Menifee: Where we ensure that every student transitions on a pathway to a successful future in academia, military or career,” and the district has a resolute focus of meeting the needs of our students. At Menifee County Schools, students are first!

We are Menifee!
