Lana Swartz is the Academic Program Consultant for Menifee County Schools where she is the Gifted Coordinator; Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment District team; District lead for Career Technical Education, Workplace Ethics, GrearUP, and JAG programs.  This is her 27th year in Education where she was a teacher in the classroom for 21 years.  Mrs. Swartz obtained a Masters of Secondary Science Ed and a Masters in Teacher Leadership from Morehead State University, and a Masters in Principal Leadership Level 1, Instructional Supervisor and Director of Pupil Personnel from Asbury University, a Gifted Endorsement from Georgetown College, National Board Certification in Biology Adolescent to Young Adulthood, STEM Certification from Pikeville College, and Biomed Project Lead the Way Certification from the University of Kentucky. In 2013 Mrs. Swartz was awarded the AppLE (Appalachian Leaders in Education) Educator (K-12 teacher) by The Center for Rural Development. In 2014 she was one of 24 recipients awarded the Ashland Inc. Teacher Achievement Award (TAA) by The Kentucky Department of Education and Ashland Inc.  Mrs. Swartz is looking forward to retirement at the end of this year.
