Happy Thanksgiving Menifee County High School and Community,

This week, we carry out a tradition that is exceptionally American--Happy Thanksgiving!   We are indeed a most blessed Nation above all others and have much to be thankful for.

The Psalmist writes, Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Be thankful and give thanks always.  “Thanksgiving” is not a natural desire. “Giving thanks” has to be taught and learned and practiced often.  One of the first things we teach our children is to say “thank you” when they receive something.  This enduring lesson has given America a long history of saying “thank you.”  From that first thanksgiving meal, we have had the healthy tradition of collectively giving thanks.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy in life. As a husband and father, I am so very thankful for my family.  As Principal of Menifee County High School, I’m so very thankful to serve the children of Menifee County.  I also want to share my gratitude and my thanks to everyone for being such an important part of our children’s lives.  Every day, I continue to be inspired by what I see throughout our school and community.  I’m amazed at the incredible devotion of our staff and the seemingly endless amount of energy given so generously to bring the hope of a brighter future to our children. I also celebrate the amazing support of our parents and community.

I believe that helping children succeed is one of the most important things any of us can do. Our faculty and staff have dedicated their lives to serving our children. They take each child’s needs personally. They spend hours before and after school doing the extra things that few people see but that make all the difference in the lives of our children. I witness their passion when I visit classrooms, cafeterias, extra-curricular activities and civic involvement programs.  Most importantly, I see the joy in the faces of our children.  There is no greater reward for good and faithful service.

On behalf of the Menifee County High School, thank you for helping bring value to a Menifee County education.  Have a most Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Steve
